Akinwale Peace Akindayo
Letter To Mum.
When I was living young'r in date,
She whispered words I couldn't hear,
but I know her heart has blessed me;
Yet, I.. I.. I said; her teeth stinks;
I, disobey'd her golden verses.
I grew from 4 limbs to 2 limbs,
She smile when they said I am cute,
They said I will be a doctor,
She told me they said I am bright,
That I'm a source of joy and peace.
But I made her cry; when my voice
became bold, and my eye is wide.
I made her panic, my rough voice
was man's, when I saw the true world
in its topsy-turvy order.
I was like a beg to live being
and I became a naked pot
which has no shame even when burnt.
But she stay'd with her prodigal son;
Praying for him to come back home.
Here is your son, mum, he's okay.
Here is Peace, he knows his career.
Heaven cursed hell to make Haven
betwixt Hades of Life's challenges.
Here is your son, mum, he has changed.
