When Are We Going To Enjoy Wealth by Akinwale Peace

When Are We Going To Enjoy Wealth?
.
Hunger walks on the street like a beggar,
The city is hungry while few cry
This 's hunger's unprecedented era;
e'en the blind could see and the deaf could hear;
That hunger walks on the street and enjoy.

Those men with cozy dreams are respected thieves,
They steal our treasures and feed their pockets,
Yet, we say it's their time, let them enjoy
while we swim in the pool of poverty;
Oh, we are flying birds of same feathers;

See, a bird doesn't dominate the sky,
Yet the eagle is as king of them all–
So, we print on papers for them to steal
from our heritage, while we, yet knowing
fold our arms and flip pages of paid news,

Nodding our head affirmatively like
a lizard? we act like we don't know that;
Our wing is weary and our well is dry–
We are the earth, waiting for ice cream from
the sun, please tell me, how will it not melt?

Yet, we applaud them when they appear on
our screens. They're dirty noblemen and thieves.
Royalty is uglier than gold, those men;
The Chiefs feed their bellies with our money;
Tell me, is in a-well or our to be wealth?

And, hunger walks on the street like a beggar,
And our high pitched voices are not speeches.
And our solemn plea to them is a storm,
And our violence seem to attract their peace;
Tell me, when are we going to enjoy wealth?

FABLE 1

THE LOCAL HENS AND THE CHICKENS.
Once upon a time, a woman has a big store for her chickens. The chickens are so big that they give big and good eggs everytime they release eggs. The woman fed them so much that they were weighty even after releasing eggs.
One day, a customer brought some local hens to her, she said
"Try them, they are also good hens. They give big eggs as well. You'll enjoy keeping and feeding them."

The woman collected them and added them with his chickens. The chickens and the local hens stayed together in a place.
One day, the woman gave them the normal food they eat, as the chickens pecked their food moderately, the local hens scattered it with their legs as they peck, they scattered it around and peck, they did that till they liter the whole place.
Mother hen looked at the chickens,
"We're the same now, we eat the same food. We will yield the same eggs, we will be on the postal too."

One Poem by Muhammad Auwal Ibrahim

THE WEAKER ANIMAL

Allah has answered the prayer of the weaker animals
None think that you will survive such attack
By those big lions
For whatever they chase,
They make sure is no longer breathing
on earth
You are a rabbit that survived harassments by
Those dark dogs
Inside that forest
Think not, that is your speed that saved you
It is the protection of Allah
We are all animals
But of higher class
Not those that live in the forest
Of which some are weak
While some are strong
The weak is always threaten by the strong
Let's all learn how to live in peace
With one another
