"The young beautiful university lady had gone against the law. She had plucked the Okasi leaves on a Sunday because she was about to go back to school." Episode three of the story | Ikpe Comfort (Beatitude)

EPISODE THREE OF "THE STORY"

When another Sunday arrived, I had thought about how fast the days were going. It was on our way from church, that we heard some yelling and screaming. The young beautiful university  lady had gone against the law. She had plucked the Okasi leaves on a Sunday because she was about to go back to school.
No sooner nor long, the masquerade drum beats was heard and the whole community was in a pandemonium. People ran helter shelter for coverage. The lady was taken to the shrine. Our king was immediately informed and he got ready to go and witness how the decapitation will be.

Before the beheading, some people went to the king, laid down with their faces covered with dust, begging the king to forgive the lady, but he was adamant as usual.
When he got to the market square, where the offender will be seen by all, he sat happily, touching every of his Elders with his horsetail.
People were beginning to cry, some were still pleading, but nothing came out of it.
The lady's face was covered with a brownish sack and most people didn't know who the person was.

Members of the masquerade gang were all set and the king ordered for the removal of the sack from the lady's head. When the face was seen, at first, the Elders were still, the king's servant covered his face and his daughter's maid screamed aloud. The lady looked at our king with a pleading eye. She was our King's daughter. She was the first offender or breaker of such law. Her father looked at her until his horsetail fell. He stood and wanted to run so as to hug her or maybe rescue her, but he was immediately held.

He had no choice, his only child was be headed and that was the day the law was removed from our land.

THE END

A GLIMPSE INTO THE TWO WORLD | John Kelechi Uzoma

A GLIMPSE INTO THE TWO WORLDS

A quick look into the deep well,
  I saw the cloud swimming.
Smiles had blown up my cheeks
whilst quite stable stood my feet.

Again, I saw the eagle in the well,
flapping its wings but drowned not,
A huge fear hugged my statue,
yet, I stood as one being halted.

Quickly, as I looked upon the sky,
i saw gallons of smokes racing,
As i slept in mute just to imagine,
   my head swelled so high.

Then, I walked off the well side,
terrible could be life after life,
But life after death, is like feathers...
logging into the mud for ages.

OZOBULU VIKINGS TO ABYSS | John Kelechi Uzoma

OZOBULU VIKINGS TO ABYSS.

Oh souls enduring pains of the dead,
your heart suffers injury and pain,
To you all, sages write... Weep no more,
  for paradise shall console you...

To the messengers of tragedy and anarchy,
writers write you all as enemies to charity,
Prophets curse you all to hell-fire...
for there; lay your eternal satire.

Because of your deadly guilt and sins
some souls salivate revenge and war,
As your pain wear you all with no cure
so hot and hurt shall steam your skins

All enemies of the nation will go into exile,
  all who kill innocent shall be killed by the spirit;
As soon, peace will sail about our walls,
and fortunes will brand our outfits.

TEARS IN MY EYES     The anxiety for sex prompted the award winning and young Nigerian poet (Ololade Akinlabi Ige) to sharpen the keen mouth of his pen to write the novella: TEARS IN MY EYES. This is a book for everyone to read.
The pains and agony the main character in the novella went through were meant to awake the conscience of the wicked being.
